Virtual Symposium on The Future of Financial Reporting 2026: The Statement of Cash Flows

The FARSIG Symposium 2026 will take place on Friday, 9 January 2026 at 10:00 (GMT). The duration of the event is estimated to be 2.5 hours. It is co-organised by BAFA's Financial Accounting & Reporting Special Interest Group (FARSIG) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

The annual FARSIG Symposium brings together a series of high-profile speakers to discuss current developments that affect the future of financial reporting. The topic of this year’s Symposium is the statement of cash flows, which is currently on the agenda of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB). The Symposium provides a forum for both practitioners and academics to hear and engage in the debate with the following well-informed speakers: Nick Anderson, IASB; Nikhil Chouguley, Sustopia Capital; Zhan Gao, Lancaster University; Matthew Tilling, UK Endorsement Board.

The Symposium presentations and discussions should also serve as a valuable teaching aid for those academics engaged in teaching financial reporting and contemporary issues in accounting at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
