2025 FARSIG Virtual Symposium: The Future of Financial Reporting 2025: Emerging Technology and Corporate Reporting

The FARSIG Symposium 2025 will take place on Friday, 10 January 2025 at 10:00 GMT. The duration of the event is estimated to be 2.5 hours. It is co-organised by the Financial Accounting and Reporting Special Interest Group (FARSIG) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

The annual Symposium brings together a series of high-profile speakers to discuss current developments that affect the future of financial reporting. The purpose of this year’s Symposium is to explore the current and future applications of emerging technologies (big data, blockchain, artificial intelligence, cloud) in supporting accountants in business, with a particular focus on activities related to corporate reporting.

The Symposium provides a forum for both practitioners and academics to hear and engage in the debate with the following well-informed speakers: Jodie Moll and Ogan Yigitbasioglu (Queensland University of Technology, Australia), Billie Mcloughlin (2020 Innovation Training, UK), Irshad Mallam-Hassam (Realign Consulting, Mauritius), and Vivek Mehrotra (Wipro, India).

The symposium presentation and discussions should also serve as a valuable teaching aid for those academics engaged in teaching financial and non-financial reporting and contemporary issues in accounting at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
