31st (2nd virtual) Audit & Assurance Conference

Thursday 6 - Friday 7 May 2021

Virtual Conference, 13.00–17.45 (BST)

The registration is open, see weblink below.

Given the ongoing global impact of the Covid pandemic, the 31st Audit & Assurance Conference will be a virtual event. This is our 2nd virtual and online conference, as the first virtual was organised in May 2020 (due to impact of Covid-19).

The forthcoming conference will take place on 6-7 May 2021, 1.00-5.30pm [UK times].

The full in-person conference normally is held over 2-days, but the conference organising committee has decided to run a smaller scale this year, with virtual, live and snap presentations by 24 research academics and seven powerful non-academic top influencers.

There is a good variety of research topics to be presented, such as auditor knowledge and experience, audit regulation, audit quality, ethics and fraud, joint audits, extended audit report, among other very interesting topics.

The distinguished non-academic professional speakers include Sir Jon Thompson (FRC, CEO), Stavros Thomadakis (Chairman of Ethics, IESBA), Andrew Magson (non-ExD), Jim Peterson (ex-Arthur Andersen, audit blogger and commentator), Hilde Blomme Deputy CEO, Accountancy Europe), David Hatherly (Emeritus Professor), James Barbour (ICAS), and Carolyn Clarke (ICAEW). They will focus specifically on the UK Government's audit reforms proposals amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

We are extremely grateful to all presenters for their willingness to present and disseminate knowledge and for offering their time unreservedly. We particularly look forward to hear insight-led perceptions and guidance by our professional speakers. Expect ideas, facts, and inspiration galore.
