Strategic Planning Event

The Accounting Education SIG will hold its 2025 Strategic Planning Event at the University of Leeds on the 25–26 June 2025

The Executive Board would like to invite you to a strategic planning event to consider the future direction of our Accounting Education SIG. Building on our success over the past years, how can we take this forward to have an even greater impact in our UK and international community.

We appreciate that taking time away from your various roles and other commitments is a big ask, and as a thank you we are happy to subsidise, and potentially cover, your expenses for travel and accommodation up to a value £120 for travel (on standard class travel, not 1st class please) and £120 for accommodation (including breakfast). There are lots of hotels in Leeds so feel free to book whatever suits your needs but for convenience, it is good to stay close to Leeds train station.

Event Details

25 June 2025 19:30–21:30 (BST): Networking Dinner,  venue tbc
26 June 2025 09:30–16:30 (BST): Strategic planning Event, University of Leeds

NB: All expense claims (supported by receipts) will have to be submitted within 10 working days of the event to claim a refund. Attendance at the dinner is encouraged, although not essential, but attendance all day on the 26 June is necessary in order to reclaim expenses.

Objectives for the event

Ultimately, this is to consider the future direction and objectives for the SIG. This will be an active workshop so please come along with ideas and a willingness to discuss our trajectory.

Of course, an additional benefit of the event is simply getting together, providing the opportunity for networking and community building, to enhance our increasing sense of belonging in our SIG.

How to apply

The deadline to apply is 26 May 2025, 17:00. However, places are limited and we want to ensure a balance of interests and geographic location to ensure a spread of views. As such, please do not book travel or accommodation until your place has been confirmed.

Confirmation of your place

Your place will be confirmed by 27 May 2025, at which point you are advised to book your accommodation and travel.

NB: If you find that you subsequently cannot attend, please advise us asap so that someone else can take your place.
