BAFA Scotland 2025 Annual Conference
Tuesday 9 - Tuesday 9 December 2025 University of GlasgowBAFA Scotland is pleased to invite you to our one-day, in-person annual conference at the University of Glasgow on Tuesday, 9 December 2025. The conference is being organised by the BAFA Scotland Executive Committee, with the help and support of Adam Smith Business School and BAFA.
Call for Papers
We are now inviting original submissions of work addressing research questions from all areas of accounting and finance, including scholarship. Please note that there is no preference for any particular research methodology, method, or topic.
We actively encourage submissions from researchers at all career stages, including experienced faculty, early-career researchers, and doctoral/post-graduate research (PGR) students.
Submissions can be in one of two forms:
- Full Papers - completed or near completed research papers. These papers will be presented in parallel sessions with assigned discussants, followed by audience Q&A.
- Emerging Papers - research that is in its initial stages or the initial analysis of findings (e.g., early drafts, emerging research ideas, and proposals). For this track, we would expect the submission of an extended abstract of no less than 1,000 words. Emerging papers will be presented under a shorter "Lightning Presentation" format, followed by audience Q&A.
The submission deadline is Friday, 24th October 2025 extended to 31 October 2025. Please submit your work via email to scottish-ag@bafa.ac.uk by this date for it to be included in the conference programme. Please include: i) BAFAScotland2025, ii) your name, iii) your institutional affiliation, and iv) your role (i.e., academic or PGR) in the subject line of the email and your submitted file. For example, the file name should adopt the following construction: BAFAScotland2025-JoeBloggs-UoG-PGR.
Authors should also indicate in their email whether their paper should be considered for the FULL or EMERGING paper track.
Selection will be undertaken by the BAFA Scotland Executive Committee after the submission deadline closes, with authors informed of the outcome in due course and no later than 14 November 2025.

PGRs from non-university of Glasgow Institutions: £25
PGRs from the University of Glasgow: £15
The price includes a buffet lunch and refreshments throughout the day.

Please note: You must be a member of BAFA to attend this event. If you are not already a member of BAFA, you will need to join and pay the annual subscription of £30 (Academic staff) or £15 (PhD students).
