CALL FOR PAPERS
The conference's overarching theme is: “The Transformative Role of Accounting and Finance in Society”. It aims to bring together scholars of accounting and finance to share their research and ideas on how our discipline can help to address the current global threats and issues facing society. We welcome the submission of original papers and posters that explore these topics from an accounting and/or finance perspective, which include but are not limited to:
- Climate change and climate change adaptation
- AI
- Poverty and inequality
- Demographic change and mass migration
- Natural resource crises, biodiversity loss and ecosystem collapse
- Cost of living crisis
- Corporate and/or governmental malfeasance
How may work from our discipline shed light on the problems facing our society? For example, how can we measure social impact from firms’ accounts? What solutions might we offer to current social problems? This year’s BAFA Northern conference aims to explore these themes via paper and poster presentations, a keynote speaker, and a roundtable discussion. We hope to see you in Ormskirk this September.
