Friday 14 - Friday 14 March 2025 OnlineClosing the Loop: Addressing Awarding Gaps Through Student Engagement withFeedback
Join CDAF for our next seminar online on Friday, 14 March 2025 at 13.00.
Join us for this seninar showcasing how Manchester Metropolitan University is taking a systematic approach to addressing award and progression gaps. This interactive session will unfold in three parts.
Dr Katharina De Vita will share insights from the faculty's review of initiatives aimed at addressing award and progression gaps. She will discuss the process of moving from multiple interventions to a more focused, evidence-based approach, focusing on impact and scalability across key areas.
In the second part, Dr Dom Conricode will present one such example discussing an analysis of student engagement with assessment feedback, a critical factor in student success. He will discuss the patterns he observed in how different student groups access and utilise their feedback, and showcase effective practices from across the faculty that have successfully enhanced feedback literacy and student engagement with assessment feedback.
In the final part, Katharina and Dom will facilitate collaborative discussion groups, where participants will have the opportunity to share their own experiences, challenges, and successful strategies. This peer learning approach reflects our belief that whilst there is no silver bullet to addressing progression and award gaps, our collective expertise and experiences can illuminate effective pathways forward.
We invite you to join this interactive session where we will combine data-driven insights with practical strategies and collaborative learning to work towards more equitable outcomes in higher education.
