Vacancy: Interdisciplinary Perspectives Special Interest Group (IPSIG)

There are several opportunities open for volunteers to work with BAFA. We accept self-nominations and nominations from friends/colleagues for posts. Please do not be too modest or wait to be asked – your interest in any of these positions would be very much welcomed.

Interdisciplinary Perspectives Special Interest Group (IPSIG)

The Interdisciplinary Perspectives Special Interest Group (IPSIG) invites expressions of interest and nominations for the following executive board role (such post being held for a period of three (3) years):

Secretary

The Secretary is responsible for organising and attending IPSIG Executive Board Committee meetings, the preparation of meeting agendas and minutes, and to promote and support the aims and objectives of the IPSIG (see below) and help support its Executive Board as required. Meetings usually take place every 2-3 months.

The main purposes of the IPSIG are:

  • to encourage research and scholarship in interdisciplinary accounting and finance research;
  • to establish a network of researchers and teachers in interdisciplinary accounting research;
  • to enhance the teaching of interdisciplinary accounting and finance;
  • to provide support for doctoral students and ECRs in interdisciplinary accounting and finance research;
  • to develop close links with the accounting and finance profession and help inform practice and policy;
  • to organise workshops, doctoral colloquiums and other events;
  • to develop and maintain relationships with BAFA, other BAFA SIGs and professional institutions; and
  • to provide a forum for interaction, development of knowledge and skills and the sharing of ideas among interdisciplinary accounting and finance academics.

Eligibility and how to apply

To be considered for election you must be a member of the BAFA and of the BAFA IPSIG. We request that those expressing an interest provide an up-to-date CV and a brief statement (not more than 200-300 words) indicating your motivation for the role and what kind of contribution you intend to make to the IPSIG and the Executive Board.
