Social Sciences Citation Index for British Accounting Review
We are very pleased to tell you that The British Accounting Review (BAR) has been selected for coverage in Thomson Reuter’s products and services. This means that from Volume 45 (1) 2013 onwards, all BAR publications will be indexed and abstracted in:
i) Social Sciences Citation Index
ii) Journal Citation Reports/Social Sciences Edition
iii) Current Contents/Social and Behavioral Sciences
We will begin to receive Impact Factor calculations next year. These are likely to take a while to grow toward a reliable indicator of journal impact as they are normally calculated from the commencement of appearance in ISI and not historically.
We are very grateful to all those who have made this possible, especially our Editorial Board members, Associate Editors, past Joint-editors including Professors Mike Jones and Howard Mellett and our editorial support at Elsevier. We believe that taking the journal into an electronic submission system has made a significant contribution.
BAR is now facing a much more certain future given the increasing role these citation indexes and impact factors play. We expect BAR to continue to grow with added strength which will further add to the already very encouraging number of interesting and strong submissions we are currently seeing.
Best wishes
Nathan Joseph and Alan Lowe
