Introducing a New Chair and Committee for the Public Services and Charities SIG.
Message from the New Chair of the Public Services and Charities SIG, Mariannunziata Liguori
It is a privilege and an honour to write to you all as the newly appointed Chair of the Public Services and Charities SIG. For those who do not know me, I am Professor of Accounting at Durham University Business School, where I moved in August 2021 after having worked at Queen’s University Belfast for eleven years. I was awarded a PhD by Bocconi University (in Milan), where I previously worked. My main research interests cover the areas of both public-sector and non-profit accounting. I am passionate of all management accounting, and I am a convinced AC Milan supporter!
My first thanks in this new role go to Noel Hyndman, who has excellently served as Chair over the past few years, wisely ferrying us out of the difficult period of the pandemic. As I go from previous Secretary of the SIG to Chair, I also wish to welcome John Millar (new Secretary) and thank Martin Kelly (Treasurer) and David Yates (Social media and communication) for their commitment to continue in their roles.
