CALL FOR PAPERS: Annual Conference and Global Conference of the British Accounting Review (BAR)

Deadline: 5 October 2023 for both conferences

The BAR’s Inaugural Annual Conference, to be held at Harvard University on 4 December 2023, aims to foster rigorous academic discussions on a wide range of innovative and important topics in accounting and finance research. We are particularly interested in papers that bring new insights to the understanding of these disciplines through the exploration of unique datasets, the application of novel methodologies, or the use of interdisciplinary approaches. These diverse perspectives serve to broaden the intellectual horizons of the field and are therefore highly encouraged.

All submissions to the annual conference are automatically considered by a special section of the BAR under a fast-track review process. This is a 'no-fault' submission option: if the paper is not accepted for presentation at the conference, authors can still submit it to the journal at a later date as if it had never been submitted. Acceptance at the conference does not guarantee final publication.

The British Accounting Review (BAR) is proud to announce its Inaugural Global Conference to produce innovative, impactful and thought-provoking accounting and finance research at the University of Cape Town, South Africa on 8-9 December 2023. We welcome submissions on various novel and significant topics in accounting and finance, and particularly encourage those that shed light on the challenges and innovative solutions to the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

After the conference, selected papers will be invited for submission to a special section; and other conference papers could still be submitted to regular issues of the BAR under the standard review process. Two papers will be selected for the Best Paper Awards, each of which will receive a prize of $500.
