BAFA SITUATIONS VACANT - South East Area Group
There are several opportunities open for volunteers to work with BAFA. We accept self-nominations and nominations from friends/colleagues for posts. Please do not be too modest or wait to be asked – your interest in any of these positions would be very much welcomed.
South East Area Group (SEAG)
The South East Area Group (SEAG) of the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) is seeking new appointments in the executive committee.
The main purpose of the group is to advance research and scholarship in diverse topics related to accounting, finance, and banking. We encourage collaboration and dissemination of ideas among accounting academics and non-academics through organising annual events and conferences. Each year, we hold an annual conference inviting collaboration by academics and non-academics, specifically supporting PhD students and early career researchers (ECRs). Concerning PhD students and ECRSs, we currently have a position vacant for consideration in our executive committee for a member:
We are seeking applications for an Early Careers Champion. The ECC will plan and coordinate with the help of other members on the committee, events, workshop and webinars aimed at PhD candidates and recent PhD graduates. This individual should have good planning, communication and organisational skills. In addition, the suitable candidate will be a positive person and one not adversely affected by set-backs and able to work in a team.
Needless to say, SEAG is firmly committed to EDI and encourages all interested to apply. Please send your CV and a short (1 page) personal statement or if you have any further questions contact Dr Chandres Tejura (General Secretary, on behalf of the SEAG committee): c.tejura@qmul.ac.uk.
Deadline for applications: 30 December 2023
Appointments are made under our Diversity and Inclusion Policy and are overseen by our Diversity and Inclusion Monitoring Committee.
