BAFA SITUATIONS VACANT: Scottish Area Group Executive Committee

There is an opportunity open for volunteers to work as an executive member with BAFA Scotland. We accept self-nominations and nominations from friends/colleagues.

BAFA Scotland Executive Committee

The BAFA Scotland invites expressions of interest and nominations to serve on the Executive Committee. You need to be a member of BAFA for you to be appointed.

The roles of all executive committee members involve promoting BAFA Scotland and BAFA in accordance with their aims. The overall objective of BAFA Scotland is to facilitate the advancement of knowledge and understanding of accounting, finance, and financial management.

This will be met through:

  • Encouraging research and scholarship in the areas of accounting, finance, and financial management;
  • Establishing a network of researchers and teachers in accounting, finance and financial management;
  • Supporting of research and the advancement of knowledge and education in accounting, finance, and financial management;
  • Supporting the development of the PhD students and early career researchers and academics;
  • Developing close links with the accounting and finance professions so as to inform policy, research and teaching;
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with professional accountancy and finance bodies;
  • Establishing closer relations among academics and practitioners in extended networks by means of conferences and other relevant events and group activities;
  • Communicating with members and organising (and sponsoring) targeted events.

Application Process

Deadline for expressions of interest and nominations is 25 February 2026 at 5pm.

Further enquiry and expressions of interest should be e-mailed to the Chair (copied to Secretary) by the deadline. Expressions of interest should include details of what areas of expertise the nominee would bring to the Committee.
