AFEE SIG: Call for Proposals for One-to-one Impact Mentoring

Deadline: 28 November 2025

Following the launch of the Impact Mentoring Scheme in June 2025, the Accounting and Finance in Emerging Economies (AFEE) Special Interest Group is delighted to invite colleagues interested in one-to-one impact mentoring to submit an expression of interest for a place on the scheme. For this call, we have FOUR places available, and each successful applicant will receive two one-to-one mentoring sessions over a period of six months. The sessions will focus on developing and strengthening your impact ideas. Mentoring will be delivered by experienced colleagues with expertise in accounting and finance research impact in emerging economies.

Please submit your expression of interest of no more than 750 words. This should include:

  • Title of your proposed impact case study
  • Summary of potential impact
  • Who are the beneficiaries of your research and what impact is likely to be achieved
  • What kind of support you would like to receive
  • Details of the underpinning research, indicating whether it is published or in progress

Please send your expression of interest by 28 November 2025 to: afee-sig@bafa.ac.uk. Any enquiries may also be sent to the same email address.

Applicants should note that impact may be at an early stage. Expressions of interest will be assessed based on the value that mentoring can add to the potential impact case study, as well as alignment with the accounting and finance in emerging economies focus of the AFEE-SIG. To submit an expression of interest you must be a current BAFA member.

If you are not already a member of BAFA, please sign up for membership at https://membership.bafa.ac.uk/become-a-member/.

Successful proposals will be announced at the AFEE 27th Workshop, held at School of Finance and Accounting, Westminster Business School, University of Westminster on the 15 of December 2025. Mentoring will commence in January 2026.
