Accounting for Race Workshop (Online)

This free Accounting for Race Workshop will be run online on 16 September 2022

The disproportionate impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on black and minority ethnic (BAME) communities and the murder of George Floyd in 2020 re-ignited issues of the striking racial inequalities in society. Fuelled by neoliberal policies that systematically ignore the structural barriers facing BAME communities, these out-groups continue to be disadvantaged.

While some prior research has contributed to discussions of racial inequalities, accounting has been broadly silent about issues of race. This one day workshop (jointly organised by Cardiff University, Newcastle University, the Royal Holloway University and University of Wollongong, Australia), offers a platform for like-minded researchers to connect and exchange ideas on the theme of race and accounting and accountability.
