17th Workshop on Accounting and Finance in Emerging Economies

Friday 23 - Friday 23 June 2017 Cranfield School of Management, Cranfield University

The BAFA Special Interest Group on Accounting and Finance in Emerging Economies (AFEE) aims to bring together academics working on accounting and finance issues in, or relating to, emerging economies. The workshop aims to: raise the level of interest in the specific problems and practices of accounting and finance in emerging economies; and increase awareness of the underlying issues, so that accounting and finance in these countries will not just be seen as a matter of copying what is done in the industrialised countries. As part of its activities, the AFEE Special Interest Group seeks to provide an authoritative overview of the research and progress in this field, and we welcome the participation of researchers from different research traditions.

The coverage of the workshop includes, but is not restricted to:

  • Education, training, women in accounting, and the role of professional accounting Bodies
  • Financial reporting and accounting standards, including international financial accounting standards
  • Auditing
