Let’s talk: About Assessment in Accounting Education

Thursday 15 - Thursday 15 October 2020 Online

15 October 09:00 to 10:30 (followed by an opportunity to talk socially, to 11:00)

A Free Online Event.

Following the success of our last structured conversation we are arranging another “Let’s Talk” event – this time on assessment, which was one of the topics that we didn’t have time to explore fully last time.

Our new on-line and blended learning environments differ in our approaches to assessment, but many of us are facing the prospected of not being able to return to our “traditional” modes of assessment, particularly invigilated closed book in-person exams. Instead many of us are being encouraged (or told) to use online, open book and un-time-limited exams and various forms of “low stakes” assessments. This is a challenge, is unsettling for many, and also creates potential tensions within our accredited programmes.

This “Let’s Talk” event will bring together interested accounting academics to share their own experiences and views on our new modes of assessment, ask questions of colleagues and develop (or borrow) some good ideas for the new academic space.

To join this conversation please register by logging into your BAFA Membership account and clicking the Purchase Tickets button.
