Positions available at BAFA

There are several opportunities open for volunteers to work with BAFA. We accept self-nominations and nominations from friends/colleagues for posts. Please do not be too modest or wait to be asked – your interest in any of these positions would be very much welcomed. All you need to do is write to the General Secretary, Richard Jackson via admin@bafa.ac.uk to express your interest in the position and he or one of the other executive officers will get back to you to discuss the next steps.

1. Committee for Departments of Accounting & Finance (CDAF)
We currently have two general vacancies for elected membership of the committee and one vacancy for a co-opted member, to start immediately. All three roles are for general committee membership to assist the current office holders.

We encourage current and prospective managers/leaders (Heads or Associate Heads of Departments/Schools, Programme Directors and Leaders of Learning and Teaching) to play an active part in our community and welcome applications from any background to ensure diversity amongst our membership.

The deadline for receipt of interest is19 May 2019 at 12pm.

2. Interdisciplinary Perspectives SIG
We currently have vacancies for elected membership of the committee to start immediately. These positions are for general SIG committee members with specific roles/tasks to be agreed at future committee meetings.

In addition, the chairperson, secretary, and treasurer of the IP SIG have all come to the end of their current term. These officer roles have the following basic duties:

i) Chairperson - to set the strategic vision for the direction of the SIG and oversee the operational aspects of achieving the strategic vision in line the overall objectives as set out in the IPSIG's constitution;

ii) Secretary - to ensure the SIG is in compliance with both its own and BAFA's constitution and other regulations, to be the record keeper of the SIG (with the exception of the financial records)

iii) Treasurer - to record and manage the financial activities of the IPSIG, including maintaining a bank account and complying with all requests for information from the BAFA treasurer.

Please note the incumbent officers intend to stand for a further 3-year term.

3. South East Area Group (SEAG)

The South East Area Group (SEAG) invites expressions of interest and nominations for the following posts on the Executive Committee:

i) Co-Chair
ii) Secretary (read details)
iii) Elected Member (Conference Organiser)
iv) Elected Member (publicity and social media)
v) Elected Member (without current portfolio)

To be nominated for election or propose yourself for co-option you must be a member of the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) and the BAFA South East Area Group.
